Refill, Cartridge, Cartomizer
There are three types of e-cigarettes. First, the disposable electronic cigarette, which must be completely replaced after use. Secondly, there is the mod or box mod for which you can purchase a refill in the form of e-liquid. Then there is the third category in between, the e-cigarette with cartomizer. This is a cartridge with the mouthpiece, the coil and liquid combined in one part. You replace this entirely, you do not have to replace the battery every time. You can recharge the battery yourself. If you regularly steam, but don't feel like working with loose e-liquids, then an electronic cigarette that works with a cartridge can be the solution.
How does a cartomizer work?
Basically, e-cigarettes are fairly simple in terms of components. There is a battery, a filament, a material (wick) in which the liquid is absorbed and the liquid itself. There is a mouthpiece at the end. There are devices where all parts can be replaced separately, there are also devices that you must completely replace. With a cartridge system you replace all parts except the battery, and those parts are located in the front part of the e-cigarette. If you have a model with the shape of a filter cigarette, the cartomizer will be the "filter". That is also the mouthpiece, so you always have a clean area to put your lips on.
Is a cartridge system better?
Every type of e-cigarette has specific advantages and disadvantages. Unless you purchase an electronic cigarette only once, a system with a cartomizer will be better because you can charge the battery. You are not as flexible in choice as with a mod or boxmod device because the refill in a standard product is supplied per brand or supplier. For average users who prefer convenience to options, the use of cartridges can certainly offer benefits. Note that the battery must be charged separately.
