E-cigarette gives more attempts and successfully quits smoking

You can stop smoking, in practice most smokers appear to pause. It is simply not easy to get rid of this addiction. STOPtober is a great initiative, but since it returns every year it appears to be not entirely effective. Two population surveys were conducted in the United States, examining the effect of e-cigarettes on smoking cessation. Here are the results.

Two investigations

There are two studies that are important here. Firstly, the number of people who stopped smoking per year in the 2006 to 2016 period according to a national population survey, and the number in the 2014 to 2016 period where the group was split up with and without e-cigarette. In all years there were many people who attempted to get rid of smoking. In addition, there were a number who were successful, but by no means everyone. In the period 2016 there was a considerable peak in the number of people who stopped. The introduction of the e-cigarette appears to have had a favorable effect on the number of people who stop smoking. But how do the "cold turkey" stoppers score compared to the people who have used an e-cigarette as a tool?

More chance of quitting e-cigarette

These figures were measured in the period 2014 to 2016. It showed that the number of people who had stopped using the e-cigarette was able to sustain themselves to a much greater extent than those who had not switched to vapors. That is not surprising in itself, because vapors offer the same experience and, if desired, the same dose of nicotine as smoking. Not everyone persisted, it seems clear that fumes can be effective as an alternative to smoking. And can also help with a real stop, so not just taking a break.

Stopping smoking for a while is not difficult, anyone can do that. Never smoking again is a challenge where you can use all the help.
